Welcome to Suttons Performance Packaging, a packaging designer and manufacturer serving Cambridgeshire and South East England.
Our experienced packaging experts, design team, modern, well-invested production facility, and advantageous location allow us to provide your business with packaging that is truly optimised for your application. We can also offer extensive prototyping and testing.
We work closely with you and key stakeholders at your business from concept to carriage. This approach ensures the packaging solutions we deliver are right for your products, your transport, your environmental concerns and, ultimately, right for your customers.
By working with Suttons, you can expect several benefits and advantages:

At Suttons Performance Packaging, we have a long and proud heritage, beginning in 1962 in the modest facilities of Mr Albert Edward Sutton’s Harlow-based workshop.
Despite significant changes in production processes, materials, and technologies over more than six decades in business, our specialist packaging expertise and strong family values have earned us a reputation as a respected market leader in the South East and beyond.
Today, we operate from a 20,000 sq ft purpose-built facility in Chatteris, Cambridgeshire, employing a team of around 55 employees in packaging design, customer support, technical sales and production roles. In 2023, Suttons Performance Packaging became part of Macfarlane Group PLC, operating within its specialist manufacturing division.

Our modern, well-invested manufacturing site allows us to undertake a wide range of corrugated and foam conversion processes. These include die cutting, CNC routing, sawing, heat welding, profiling, case making, multi-point gluing and much more.
Our expertise and modern conversion equipment have also seen us forge close partnerships with many material manufacturers.
As Sealed Air approved packaging partners for more than 25 years, and a Tri Wall Europe approved converter, we can combine materials including Stratocell and other foams with corrugated cardboard in various grades. These bespoke, assembled packs have proven commercially successful in industries including IT, electronics, audio, scientific, aerospace, medical and many more.

As well as designing your packaging, we also make it. Our well-invested production site enables us to convert foam, corrugated and other materials efficiently, cost-effectively and with exceptional quality.

At Suttons Performance Packaging, we take great pride in the quality of the packaging we offer to each and every one of our customers.
Our ISO 9001 accreditation and Star Pack Awards highlight our commitment to quality, innovation, and our ability to design and manufacture unequalled packaging solutions for our many valued customers.
Alongside this, we can also design and test packaging in line with ISTA (International Safe Transit Association) standards. As part of the pre-production process, we can provide structural design prototyping and drop/impact testing certification to ensure high-value or fragile items are fully protected in transit.

As an environmentally responsible business, we maintain operational practices that help safeguard the environment.
All raw materials used in our manufacturing processes are fully recyclable, and 90% of production waste enters the recycling chain.
This is in addition to supplying your business with packaging that minimises material use, replaces difficult-to-recycle materials with more environmentally friendly ones, optimises transport to reduce CO2 emissions, and is easy for end users to recycle.
